Leann Folláin "Double Barrel" Stout
Extraordinary Barrel Aged Irish Stout.
Leann Folláin was initially aged for 6 months in Irish Whiskey ex-Bourbon casks. Laced with vanilla and caramel flavours it is then finished for a further 6 months in Irish Whiskey ex-Oloroso Sherry casks which were previously part of a Solera system in Jerez, Spain.
The Sherry casks add a depth flavour you can only get from the warming stewed fruit sweetness that has been building in the barrels for generations, in some cases for as long as 40 years.
This is the tenth edition barrel-aged, it is very unique and not one to be missed. After blending and decanting, the beer was bottle-conditioned for 90 days before release.
This is a special beer with multiple layers of complexity and character.
It's taken us 3 years to get our hands on a small quantity of this highly sought after limited edition Stout and we are thrilled to be able to bring it to Australian shores for the 1st time!

Deep opaque black with a medium carbonated head.
AROMA:
Let the senses take in the light whiskey notes which fully complement the rich luxurious stout aroma.

This is a very smooth beer due to the wood ageing, which also adds some vanilla, dark fruits and oak. There is a good deal of sweetness balanced by the bittering hops while the whiskey and subtle sherry flavour lingers throughout providing a gentle warmth.

This is an excellent desert beer, enjoyed on its own with sweet chocolate flavours and mouth textured body. Pairs well with Irish beef stew, beef Wellington, Irish lamb loin with colcannon and traditional smoked salmon.

A good fusion with Cashel Blue cheese or crumbled Feta cheese.
